My group is currently working on a YMCA fundraising project entitled " Blooming Dreams" for Club Rainbow. We will be selling handmade paper flowers. We are urgently in need of volunteers to help us sell both in school and public from now till early july. All students are most welcome to join us. You might need to do the selling during the june holidays. Dear AllFor all volunteers who have signed-up for Chestnut Drive Sec School Peer Tutoring in Science subjects at the CIP Noticeboard. Meeting to discuss the question papers will be held on 24/5/2007 Thur 3-4 pm at LT2. Attendance is utmost important.
Meanwhile, we need more volunteers. Check it out at the noticeboard. Do not be afraid to handle the sciences for Normal Academic stream or the 'O' Level exam. TOUCH Community Services is a beneficiary of SCS Great Singapore Duck Race 2007 and they need you to help them to continue to support their clients which include children from low-income and/or single-parent families, youths-at-risk, needy families, people with special and healthcare needs, and the frail elderly. (Street-selling! About 5h/session!)FOUR: Olympic Dream going for Gold -2007
Dear students,
Olympic Dream going for Gold -2007
The Singapore Volunteer Corps started Olympic Dream going for Gold - 2007. This event will be held on 15th July 2007. After every lap, the runner will receive a colored rubber band i.e. 10 laps =10 rubber bands. After the runner has finished the run, he/she will submit the rubber bands to be clocked. Participants can use bicycles, kick-scoots, roller blades and wheel chair to cover 100,000 laps of a 400 metres track in 18 hours. Participants can choose whatever way they would like to clock up the laps - walking, running, wheeling, roller blading. If you would like to wheel, they can provide the wheelchairs as Handicap Welfare Association is their partner. Please let they know prior to the event.
As this is a fundraising event, they are also looking to distribute pledge cards. They are hoping that participants will pledge $5 for every lap run.

Hi all,
HCA hospice is a registered charity that provides comfort and support to patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families. In collaboration with YMCA-Citibank, the Butterfly Project has been launched to raise funds for hospice patients through selling handmade butterflies. These are a symbol of HCA and represent the fragility yet beauty of life. We would like to invite you, dear Hwa Chongians, to extend your helping hands and volunteer your work in this meaningful project.
For preparation, people from HCA hospice care will teach volunteers how to fold paper butterflies. No experience is required.
DATES: 28 May -1 June, 4 June - 8 June, 11June - 15 June, 18 - 22 June
Venue: Hwa Chong Institution
You are encouraged to choose from any of the dates mentioned above.
All the butterflies made will be sold in Orchard Road at weekends. Two shifts will be available per day. However, you can choose both shifts. More details are following:

The Butterfly Project
(Whenever I see butterfly, I will think of 'Meng Die', which is HCCO's syf choice piece 2 years ago. Ok, thats random. lol. Anyway, anyone interested in folding butterflies too besides flowers?? Butterflies and flowers are part of nature and we must love them! (ok, Im not talking sense here))
SIX: Class SL proj for Beyond Social Services (BSS)
Dear fellow schoolmates,
We are a group of students from 06S71, are currently raising funds for Beyond Social Services (BSS), a social welfare organisation that is dedicated to helping children and youth from the lowest 4% income bracket in Singapore and developing them to value education, respect the law and grow into responsible adults. This year, Beyond has reached out to 5441 children and youth, up from 4893 in 2006.
As part of our fund-raising project, we will be selling ice-creams in the canteen from 21 May (Term 2 Week 10 Monday) to 23 May (Wednesday) at an affordable price of $1! All proceeds will be used by BSS to fund its programmes, such as the Kids United Daily Care and Guidance Programme and the Learning Is Fun and Exciting (LIFE) Programme, which will benefit the children immensely. We hope you will show us your support towards this good cause by patronising our ice cream stall. Your generosity will make a huge difference to the lives of many children at BSS. On behalf of BSS, we thank you in advance.
Besides raising funds for BSS, we are recruiting volunteers for their regular programmes and in preparation for the MilkRun (www.milkrun.sg)! We need people to mentor and tutor the kids; to train the kid for the Run; and to do planning and administration of Run matters.
